Day 124 of 366

Manual mode, matrix metering, Nikon D300/grip, hand-held
Sigma 30 1.4 EX, 1/100 sec, f/1.4, ISO 800
SB-800, manual mode, 1/128 power, light stand, 30" shoot-through umbrella, Pocket Wizards Plus II units

Mostly available light, ISO 800 and SB-800 fired through 30" shoot-through umbrella with Pocket Wizards. Kept the flash at the lowest manual setting (1/128) so I could shoot fast moments for recycle time up to 8fps and so it does not annoy the little one or make her blink. Spent about 45 minutes with this 6 month old and liked this shot the best.

Why Compelling
Got to love the moment. This was taken on the floor in a friend's house, so used wide open aperture to take away the background. Used available light for hair light, side light and general ambient light. Used the flash to just perfect the exposure.
