Another Lupin shot yes, but with a different approach on this stomy sky day after a recent rain.

Here are some of the setup shots:

I setup a light stand (should have used the tripod instead on the slope) and used a Pocket Wizard set to give me sure-fire flash triggering with any lens and distance I chose to use. Light overcast light was giving no real direction, so I added some directional light.

SB-800 at full power, 30" Photoflex convertible umbrella, Pocket Wizard Plus II set.

Just playing with one light triggered by a Pocket Wizard set.
I like the texture in the hairs and whiskers.

Why Compelling
I like the simple shot and caught my eye when I reviewed the test shots. The texture in the hair really comes out here. I like the catch light in the eye too.

Shallow DoF infrared tests. The last time I tried this I had mixed results, but thought this abstract, grainy outcome was good enough to share.
At f/2.8 nothing is in focus, but at f/5 it starts to give some sharpness. The contrast and B&W conversion enhanced the grain, I kind of like it here.

Why Compelling
Well I like the grain, the surreal quality to the light, the out of focus elements and how it is just something different.

Why Compelling
Snow on April 20th is pretty compelling, especially how big the flakes were for awhile. Melted fast, but was fun to shoot in.

Afternoon light and I like the way it came out. Three days ago the Lupin was not fully open, but today it was perfect. Taken on the way back from getting the kids some new special stuffed animals at "Build A Bear" type place in a local town.

Why Compelling
I love the light, glow and softness in this shot. The 30 1.4 worked well here I thought to simplify the surrounding details.
